What Foods Have Omega 7: Sources and Benefits

What Foods Have Omega 7: Sources and Benefits

For quite a long time, omega-3 fatty acids stayed at the forefront of nutritional research. On the rise, omega-7 foods are now emerging as vital nutrients with a wide array of probable health benefits. Like omega-3 and 6, omega-7 fatty acids are majorly represented by monounsaturated fats, among which palmitoleic acid predominates. This peculiarity of structure provides them with a highly expressed anti-inflammatory activity.

Frequently asked questions

How do services work?

At Health Loft, we help you connect and schedule with a licensed nutritionist that accepts your insurance and is experienced with your unique interests and health aspirations.

In your first session, our registered nutritionists gain a holistic view of your nutritional needs, starting by gathering information about your current eating habits, lifestyle, and health goals. Based on this understanding, a personalized plan is crafted to help you achieve your desired outcomes.

Nutrition is a journey, and we’re with you every step of the way. You’ll continue to meet with your nutritionist regularly to discuss your progress, fine tune your treatment plan, make additional recommendations, and set new goals – adapting your plan as your needs evolve.

Do you take insurance? How much do services cost?

Health Loft is in-network with most major insurances including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, UMR, Oxford, AetnaMedicare, Cigna, as well as the various subsidiaries of these insurances. We currently do not accept HMO plans.

Most of our clients are covered at 100% or have a small copay or co-insurance. If you have questions about if we accept your insurance, you can call us at (855) 552-5557 or email appointments@healthloftco.com.

There are no contracts or additional fees to see a Health Loft nutritionist.

What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?

At Health Loft, we only hire licensed dietitians.

The terms “dietitian” and “nutritionist” are often used interchangeably, however the two credentials are not actually equal. A Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a food and nutrition expert who must obtain a relevant bachelor’s degree, complete a supervised practice program, and pass a national licensure examination in order to earn their credentials.

A nutritionist, on the other hand, is not required to meet these same requirements in order to use the title. In fact, in many states “Nutritionist” is an unregulated term meaning that anybody, regardless of educational background, can call themselves a nutritionist. This is why it is important to find a Registered Dietitian when seeking nutritional care.

Do you offer in person or virtual visits?

At Health Loft, our dietitians only offer virtual appointments which are done via a HIPAA compliant zoom platform. We found when we had an office, many of our clients found equal value in meeting with their dietitian virtually as well as more convenient and time saving.

What age ranges do you work with?

At Health Loft, we have nutritionists that work with all age ranges including infants (0-24 months), children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Our dietitians also have experience with a range of conditions across the lifespan.

How many appointments will I need with a nutritionist?

Our approach is as unique and individualized as you are and depends on your specific goals, medical history, background, and timeline. Individuals can be seen weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or even less often depending on your needs and preferences. We believe nutrition is a journey and as your dietitian provider, we will be with you every step of the way to provide support and keep you informed as nutrition science and your needs evolve.
