About
Avelina is a Registered Dietitian who is deeply committed to supporting individuals as they navigate eating disorders, disordered eating, and their journey toward a healthier relationship with food. She has experience working across a wide range of care settings, including hospitals, outpatient programs, nursing homes, inpatient substance use facilities, and eating disorder treatment programs at the residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care. Her work is guided by compassion, openness, and meaningful connection. As a mother of three, Avelina has a special interest in women’s health and is passionate about using nutrition to support a balanced, nourishing, and fulfilling life.
Approach to Care
In her approach to care, Avelina embraces the intuitive eating model and aligns her work with the Health at Every Size® (HAES) philosophy. She believes there is no one-size-fits-all path to health and nutrition and thoughtfully tailors her care to honor each person’s unique needs and experiences. Avelina values building meaningful, trusting relationships with her clients and gently incorporates behavior-change strategies to support sustainable, lasting growth.
What to Expect
When working with Avelina, you can expect a thoughtful and personalized approach to care. She believes that truly understanding each person she works with is essential to providing effective support. Avelina takes time to get to know her patients and gather meaningful information that helps guide her care. During sessions, she gently explores your goals, nutrition history, and other areas that matter to you, allowing her to support your unique needs and your journey toward greater well-being.
