About
As a dedicated weight management and bariatric dietitian, I am passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding obesity and advocate for its recognition as a complex, multifactorial condition. Through education and awareness, I strive to shift the narrative, fostering a compassionate and supportive approach to obesity treatment, which is essential for lowering the risk of related chronic diseases.
Approach to Care
Amy invites you to a session that encompasses listening, validating, education with fun analogies. Amy uses a patent-centered approach to provide non-diet and weight-inclusive care.
What to Expect
Your initial session with Amy will be spend getting to know you. The goal is to gain a thorough understanding of you as a person; this includes your medical history and current medications, relevant blood work, evaluate chronic and acute stress and the ways you respond, your sleep hygiene, and your current concerns. We will explore your relationship with food, considering your beliefs and emotions related to eating. You’ll be asked about your food preferences, current eating habits, as well as all the other things that make you, you (hobbies, work, interests, etc.)! Amy will then use this information to create an individualized plan of care to empower you to make positive changes, along with time for you to ask any questions of your own.
